PMMA has the highest optical clarity among plastics, with light transmission even higher than glass. Thanks to its inherent UV resistance it can remain outdoors for long periods without yellowing.

PMMA has the highest optical clarity among plastics, with light transmission even higher than glass. Thanks to its inherent UV resistance it can remain outdoors for long periods without yellowing.
Its surface hardness and scratch resistance are better than polycarbonate; however, its impact strength is markedly lower. It is therefore preferred where visual quality is the priority and impact loading is limited.
