ABS is an amorphous engineering plastic formed from three monomers: acrylonitrile provides chemical resistance, butadiene toughness, and styrene processability and surface quality.
Being platable and paintable is a major advantage for visible surface parts. Its low shrinkage and dimensional stability make it preferred for tight-tolerance parts. Flame retardant and glass fibre reinforced compound types are available.
