Polypropylene homopolymer is the stiffest type in the PP family with the highest heat deflection temperature. Produced from a single monomer, it has a high degree of crystallinity, which brings strength and hardness advantages.
Thanks to its low density, broad chemical resistance and favourable cost, it is used across a very wide range from packaging to industrial parts. However, its low-temperature impact strength is limited compared with copolymer types, which should be considered for cold environment applications.
