GPPS is a rigid, dimensionally very stable amorphous thermoplastic with glass-like clarity. Its low shrinkage is an advantage for tight-tolerance parts.
Its easy processing and favourable cost make it widespread in consumer products. However, due to its brittle nature, HIPS or other impact-modified types should be considered for parts under impact loading.
