About the Product
POM (Polyoxymethylene / acetal) offers, thanks to its high degree of crystallinity, one of the best friction-and-wear performances and dimensional stabilities among engineering plastics. Its resilience and fatigue strength make it stand out in moving mechanisms.
LG Chem's LUCEL family is used in applications operating under repeated motion — gears, bearings, cams, sliding parts, automotive door and seat mechanisms. Its low coefficient of friction often removes the need for lubrication.
POM's narrow melting range and high shrinkage require precise control of processing parameters. Acetal materials are also sensitive to acidic environments; if chemical contact is expected, compatibility must be confirmed.
